Conjunctivitis (also known as pinkeye) is a medical condition when the Conjunctiva (a transparent membrane that lines the outer eye, and inner part of the eyelid) becomes inflamed, which can cause it to become pink or red. The cause of conjunctivitis can be either bacterial or viral infection.
