The Constitution of the Year III was a constitution established in 1795 in France, superceding the French Constitution of 1791 and the French Constitution of 1793. It only remained in effect until the "Coup of 18 Brumaire" in March 1799, at which point Napoleon Bonaparte became ruler of France.
