Country pop is a sub-genre of country music and pop music. This music emerged in the 1970s. Country pop acts either cross over to adult contemporary or Top 40.
Examples of country pop musicians include Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Jessica Simpson, The Band Perry and Crystal Gayle.[1][2]
