Göran Persson (born January 20, 1949) was the Prime minister of Sweden between 1996 and 2006.[1] He was the leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, but quit in March 2007. He was replaced by Mona Sahlin as leader of the party, the party's first woman to do so.
