In Attack of the Clones, Jango is selected to be the genetic template for the clone army grown by the Kaminoan cloners of the planet Kamino. In exchange, he receives considerable wealth, and an unmodified clone to raise as his son, named Boba.

Jango serves as Seperatist leader Count Dooku's bodyguard during the Battle of Geonosis. However, his jetpack becomes damaged after being trampled. Unable to escape, Jango meets his demise at the hands of Jedi Master Mace Windu, following a brief fight. His legacy is continued through his son Boba, who would grow up to be known as the galaxy's most fearless bounty hunter.

Jango is portrayed by New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison, who also portrayed several clones. Morrison later provided voicework for Boba Fett in the special editions of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and several video games. He went on to portray the character in live action in the second season of the 2020 series The Mandalorian, and its 2021 spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett.
