Kansei (寛政) was a Lua error in Module:Nihongo at line 88: attempt to call field '_transl' (a nil value). after Tenmei and before Kyōwa. This period started in January 1789 and ended in February 1801.[1] During this time, the emperor was Kōkaku-tennō (光格天皇).[2]

The nengō Kansei means "Lenient Government".[3]
