A ménage à trois (French: [menaʒ a tʁwɑ]) is a French word describing a situation where three persons are involved in a relationship and live together. Each of the three has a sexual relationship to the two others.[1] A form of polyamory, arrangements are sometimes identified as a throuple,[2] thruple,[3] or triad.[4] In 2021, the first ever throuple got married, and it is now officially legal.[5]
