Magnetic pole

Magnetic poles are special places in the magnetic field of the earth. On a magnetic pole, the magnetic field points vertically down (towards the earth). As the magnetic field of the earth changes over time, so do the magnetic poles. Note that the magnetic north pole is not at the location of the geographic north pole.
