Nógrád County

Nógrád is an administrative county in Hungary. The capital of Nógrád county is Salgótarján. It is in the northern part of the country. Nógrád is on the border with Slovakia. It borders with the Hungarian counties of Pest, Heves and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén. In 2019, 189,304 people lived there. Its area is 2,544 km². Nógrád is the smallest county in Hungary by population and the second smallest county in Hungary by area (after Komárom-Esztergom).
