The Optare Visionaire[a] was a 2-axle and 3-axle low-floor open-top body of a bus.

It was made from 2006 to 2011 by East Lancashire Coachbuilders and then Darwen Group and then Optare.

It was built on the Scania N230UD chassis,[1][2] Scania N270UD chassis[1] and Volvo B9TL chassis[1] (2-axle[3] or 3-axle[4][5]).

Bought by Darwen

East Lancs went into Administration in August 2007 and was bought by the Darwen Group. The body was renamed to Darwen Visionaire.[6]

Reverse takeover by Optare

In June 2008 Darwen Group was bought by Optare, the Visionaire was renamed Optare Visionaire.[1]
