Rai 1 (formerly Programma Nazionale from 1953 to 1975, Rete 1 from 1975 to 1983, and Raiuno from 1983 to 2010) is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster RAI ― Radiotelevisione Italiana. It was launched on 3 January 1954 as the first regular television service in Italy.
