The Nintendo Switch 2 is a video game console developed by Nintendo. It was revealed on January 16, 2025, and released on June 5th.[7] While it is able to support some original Nintendo Switch games, there are still a few Switch games that lack compatibility.[8][9]

Games

Some games for the first Nintendo Switch are backwards compatible, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Also, a small amount of them are eligible for a Switch 2 upgrade, such as Super Mario Odyssey.

New features

  • There is a second USB-C port at the top of the device (The Switch 1 only had one USB-C port).[10][11]
  • The right controller has a "C" button, which allows "Gamechat," a voice chat service while playing.[16][17]
  • The controllers have magnets to attach to the system replacing the rail system the original system used..[18]
