Tendring is a borough in the north-east of Essex in the East of England. It was created on 1 April 1974. Its population is about 140,000, a high proportion of whom are older people or senior citizens. The largest settlement is Clacton-on-Sea, which has over a third of the borough's people, it was called a deprived area by many.
