The University of Texas at Austin is a public university in Austin, Texas. It is one of the largest universities in the United States, with almost 50,000 students. It was founded in 1883.

Sports

Texas' athletics teams are called the Longhorns. Texas has 18 varsity teams, almost all of which compete in the Southeastern Conference, which it joined in 2024. The only exception is women's beach volleyball, which is independent (not in a conference).
