History and Features

The Wey Mocha was shown at the Auto Shanghai in January 2021.^[1] in April of the same year sales started in China. The SUV was named after the Mocha Coffee.^[2] other vehicles of Wey named after types of Coffee were the Latte and the Macchiato these two were also shown at the Auto Shanghai.^[3]

The Wey Mocha was initially avaliable only with a 2.0 liter turbo gasoline engine with a 9-speed DCT transmission but a Plug-in hybrid version with a multi-mode DHT transmission was launched later.^[4]

Markets

The Wey Mocha is sold mainly in China but in Europe untill the end of 2023 its sold as the Wey Coffee 01.^[5] since the start of 2024 its sold as the GWM Wey 05.
