Walsall

Walsall is a market town in the county of the West Midlands, England. It is in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. It iwas historically part of Staffordshire. Its town centre is 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Birmingham and 6 miles (10 km) east of Wolverhampton. A 2011 census revealed that 67,594 people live in the town and 269,323 people live in the borough.

It is a very industrial town and was effected by the Industrial Revolution. The town used to have a large industry of making products such as saddles and chains.

Walsall has been majorly redeveloped and modernised since the 1970s and is still being constantly developed.

Barr Beacon is a hill located in Walsall. It is the highest point between itself and the Ural Mountains in Russia.

The town has a professional football club, Walsall FC. Their nickname is "The Saddlers" and they play their home games at the Bescot Stadium in the Bescot suburb of the town.
