Xylene

In organic chemistry, xylene (systematically dimethylbenzene) is the common name of three related chemical compounds with the chemical formula (CH₃)₂C₆H₄. All three xylenes are found by replacing two hydrogen atoms in benzene with a methyl group. A mixture of these three compounds is called mixed xylenes, which also often includes ethylbenzene.
