Zakir Abdul Karim Naik (born 18 October 1965) is an Indian Islamic preacher,[1] and the founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) and Chairperson of Peace TV Foundation.[2] He is also the founder of the Peace TV channel.[3] His lectures are very influential, especially among the Muslims in the subcontinent. He was awarded the King Faisal International Prize in 2015.[4][5] He fled from India in 2016.[6] Naik currently resides in Malaysia, where he has secured the permanent resident status.[7]

Counterversy
Zakir Naik has been claimed to have been linked to the July 2016 Dhaka terrorist attack in Bangladesh.[8] This has led to him being banned from entering the country of India.[9] He has also gained counterversy for allegedly promoting terrorism against the United States.[10]
