1. The uterus is the internal organ inside of a female mammal where an embryo grows into an infant ready to be born.
   • Synonym: womb

   A man does not have a uterus and cannot give birth.

   Female fish do not have a uterus, and so the embryo must grow inside of an egg outside of the body.
