Åmots kommun (norska: Åmot kommune) är en kommun i Innlandet fylke i Norge. Kommunen ligger i Østerdalen och administrativt centrum i kommunen är Rena.

Socknen Aamot etablerades som kommun den 1 januari 1838. 1880 överfördes ett område med 302 invånare från Trysils kommun.[5]
Den ursprungliga socknen är döpt efter en gammal gård vid namn Ámót på fornnordiska, då den första kyrkan byggdes där. "Á" betyder å och "mót" möte. Namnet kommer av att floderna Glomma och Renaelva rinner ihop just där. Innan 1921 skrevs kommunnamnet Aamot.
Åmot ligger i centrala delarna av f.d. Hedmark fylke. Kommunen gränsar i syd till Rendalens kommun, i öst till Trysils kommun, i syd till Elverums kommun, i sydväst till Hamar och Ringsakers kommuner och i väst till Stor-Elvdals kommun.
