อัลวินกับสหายชิพมังค์ เป็นนักร้องกลุ่ม ในช่วงคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1950 มีสมาชิก 3 ตัว เป็นชิปมังก์ (โดยใช้เครื่องอัดแผ่นเสียง แล้วเร่งเสียงให้เป็นเสียงชิปมังก์) และเคยทำเป็นการ์ตูนที่ฉายในประเทศไทย ฉายทางช่อง 3 ช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2536–37

ประวัติ

รอส แบ็กดาสาเรียน จูเนียร์ เป็นผู้กำเนิดอัลวินกับสหายชิพมังค์

ในปี 1958 รอส เหลือเงินในธนาคารเพียง 200 ดอลลาร์ เขาเอาเงินนั้นไปซื้อเครื่องอัดเสียง และสิ่งที่เครื่องอัดเสียงในยุคนั้นทำได้ คือสามารถเร่งความเร็ว แล้วเขาอัดเสียงในเครื่อง เลยเป็นต้นกำเนิดเสียงของชิปมังค์ ในปีเดียวกันเขาคิดว่าจะใช้สัตว์ตัวอะไรร้องเพลง ขณะที่คิดอยู่นั้นได้เห็นชิปมังค์อยู่กลางถนน เขาจะขับรถผ่านไป ด้วยความกล้าเลยคิดที่จะใช้ชิปมังค์เป็นนักร้อง
