生平

1912年，费雷尔出生于美国自治领地波多黎各圣胡安，母亲玛利亚（Maria Providencia Cintron），父亲拉斐尔·费雷尔（Rafael Ferrer），父亲是律师和诗人。

费雷尔早年在Institut Le Rosey学校读书。^[2]

1933年，他毕业于普林斯顿大学，在学校他创作了毕业论文“法国自然主义和Emilia Pardo Bazán”，他是普林斯顿三角俱乐部的成员之一。
