外颈动脉

外颈动脉（external carotid artery）源自于总颈动脉，为头颈部的一条重要动脉。总颈动脉有内颈动脉及外颈动脉两条分支，外颈动脉负责供应头颈部的血流^[1]。

解剖

外颈动脉源自于甲状软骨上缘，向前上行，之后向后上行至下颚骨颈部后方，并在腮腺处分为浅颞动脉及上颌动脉，之后管径急速缩小。

功能

外颈动脉的分支包含：

• In the carotid triangle（英语：carotid triangle）:^[2]
  • Superior thyroid artery（英语：Superior thyroid artery）, arising from its anterior aspect
  • Ascending pharyngeal artery（英语：Ascending pharyngeal artery） - arising from medial, or deep, aspect
  • Lingual artery（英语：Lingual artery） - arising from its anterior aspect
  • Facial artery（英语：Facial artery） - arise from its anterior aspect
  • Occipital artery - arising from its posterior aspect
• Posterior auricular artery - arising from posterior aspect

外颈动脉的终末分支共有两条：

• 上颌动脉
• 浅颞动脉
