彼得、保罗和玛丽

彼得、保罗和玛丽（英语：Peter, Paul and Mary，PPM）是1960年代活跃在美国乐坛上的一支三重唱组合。该组合由彼得·亚罗（英语：Peter Yarrow）、保罗·斯图基（英语：Paul Stookey）和玛丽·特拉弗斯（英语：Mary Travers）组成。

历史

早期（1961年-1969年）

1963年三人在向华盛顿进军集会上演出

彼得、保罗和玛丽结成于1961年。在迈阿密训练后，他们在纽约格林威治村的一家咖啡馆演出。次年发行第一张组合同名唱片《彼得、保罗和玛丽（英语：Peter, Paul and Mary (album)）》。该唱片在《告示牌》杂志排行榜前十位上停留了十个月，有七周排名第一。销量达到二百万张，获美国唱片业协会金唱片认证。至1963年，该乐团共发行三张唱片。同年他们发表了《Puff, the Magic Dragon》，由彼得作曲，歌词来自一名康奈尔大学的学生作者。有都市传说指歌曲中有毒品影响，彼得则表示歌曲表达的是对失去的纯真童年的怀念。^[1]该年乐队还在马丁·路德·金组织的向华盛顿进军游行上演唱了《If I Had a Hammer（英语：If I Had a Hammer）》。

彼得、保罗和玛丽多有翻唱鲍勃·迪伦的歌曲，如《Blowin' in the Wind》。他们的经纪人阿尔伯特·格罗斯曼（英语：Albert Grossman）也是鲍勃·迪伦的经纪人。他们翻唱的《Don't Think Twice, It's All Right（英语：Don't Think Twice, It's All Right）》还帮助迪伦四个月前的唱片《The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan》重回排行榜前30名。 ^[2]1969年12月，友人约翰·丹佛为三人写的《Leaving On A Jet Plane（英语：Leaving On A Jet Plane）》成为组合唯一的榜首歌曲，也是组合唯一的销量过百万单曲。收录该单曲的专辑是《Album 1700（英语：Album 1700）》（1967年发行）。组合最后一只前一百名单曲是同年6月的《Day Is Done（英语：Day Is Done (song)）》，排行第21位。

解散与重组

2006年三人在纽约演出

1970年组合解散，三人各自发展，但各自收获不大。1978年三人在一场反核的音乐会上重聚演出，从此组合复合，继续创作和发行唱片。

2004年玛丽诊断患上白血病。之后组合因她的康复治疗而时有取消和推迟演出。随着她病重，保罗和彼得已开始以二重唱（英语：Duet）组合出场演出。2009年9月16日玛丽病逝。保罗和彼得仍活跃在演出舞台上。2010年保罗和彼得敦促反对同性恋的美国全国婚姻组织（英语：National Organization for Marriage）停止在集会中使用他们的《This Land Is Your Land》，因为该组织和彼得、保罗和玛丽“主张直接对立”。^[3]

2025年1月7日，彼得因膀胱癌病逝，享年86岁。^[4]

荣誉

• 1990年9月1日因积极参与和平活动，获颁和平修道院良知勇气奖。^[5]
• 1999年组合进入演唱组名人堂。
