文忠志

文忠志，（英文名：Stephen Endicott，音译史蒂芬·艾迪科特，1928年—），^[1][2]加拿大汉学家，在中国上海出生，在成都、重庆长大，父亲是中国人民的老朋友文幼章（英语：James G. Endicott），对中国，特别是四川、重庆有着深厚的感情。^[3][4]文忠志曾任加拿大约克大学教授，现已退休。^[1][2]

生平

文忠志1928年在中国上海出生，1949年多伦多大学历史系毕业，1966年获得多伦多大学历史硕士，1973年获得多伦多大学历史博士。^[2]

文忠志1980年出版了父亲文幼章的传记James G. Endicott: Rebel out of China^[5]，1983年出版中译本《出自中国的叛逆者—文幼章传》^[6][7]。

文忠志于1980-1981年与1988年在中国四川大学担任客座副教授^[2]，其间在四川什邡农村进行调查，1988年出版了名为《红土地》的中国农村调查的专著^[8]，具有一定的国际影响^[3]。

文忠志的父亲文幼章因为谴责美国在朝鲜战争进行细菌战，1952年获得斯大林和平奖。^[9]文忠志1998年出书The United States and biological warfare: secrets from the early cold war and Korea，也主张美国在朝鲜战争中使用了细菌武器，^[10]但他也承认“公开供大众查阅的档案中，找不到明确的直接的证据，证明美国曾经在朝鲜战争中使用过细菌武器”。^[11]纽约时报的书评认为这本书“烂透了”^[12]。

文忠志曾多次访问中国。^[3]

文忠志的妻子Lena Wilson Endicott是一位画家。他们有四个女儿。^[2]
