生平

1946年，朱利安·巴恩斯生于英格兰中部的莱斯特，但出生六个星期后全家就搬到了伦敦郊区^[1][2]。

1968年自牛津大学莫德林学院毕业，曾参与《牛津辞典增补本》的编纂工作，著有长篇小说九部和侦探小说四部，曾四度获得布克奖提名（1984、1998、2005、2011），并在2011年以《回忆的余烬》获得布克奖，朱利安·巴恩斯以1984年《福楼拜的鹦鹉》最为脍炙人口。

朱利安·巴恩斯是获得梅迪西文学奖（《福楼拜的鹦鹉》）和妇女奖（《尚待商榷》）的惟一英国作家。
