此条目介绍的是英国大学。关于其他同名机构，请见“林肯大学 (消歧义)”。林肯大学（University of Lincoln）是一所位于英国林肯郡林肯的大学，历史可追溯至1861年。[7] 1992年获大学资格。主校区靠近天然湖泊Brayford Pool，此外在莱斯赫姆及霍尔比齐有分校区。[8]

历史
林肯大学的历史可以追溯至创立于赫尔的赫尔艺术学院（Hull School of Art，1861年）、赫尔技术学院（Hull Technical Institute，1893年）、恩兹利罗马天主教教师培训学院（Roman Catholic teacher-training Endsleigh College，1905年）、赫尔河畔金斯敦教育学院（Kingston upon Hull College of Education，1913年）和赫尔中央商学院（Hull Central College of Commerce，1930年）。[11] 1976年以上机构合并成为赫尔高等教育学院（Hull College of Higher Education），[12] 1983年改名为亨博赛德高等教育学院（Humberside College of Higher Education）。[13]

1992年获得大学地位，当时称为亨博赛德大学（University of Humberside），学生人数也开始增加。之后亨博赛德大学在林肯市中心西南的Brayford Pool选址建立新校区。1996年1月该大学也改名为林肯郡和亨博赛德大学（University of Lincolnshire and Humberside）。[14]
2001年1月改现名，2002年大学主校区从赫尔搬到林肯。[15] 该大学的主校区由伊丽莎白二世陛下亲自主持开幕，建筑此校区花去超过1.4亿英镑，对当地经济也产生了积极影响的。[16]

此建筑由曼彻斯特、杰弗里尔德和林肯郡铁路公司（Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway）建造于1874年，2006年9月被改建成娱乐场所，举办当地最大的现场音乐会。[17]
该大学的图书馆位于大中央仓库（Great Central Warehouse）建筑中，此建筑在1907年由大中央铁路公司建造，原先是铁路存货仓库。2004年12月大学图书馆在此落成，馆藏约30余万件。[18]
排名
该大学在英国国内处于中等水平，但其农业和林业位居全英前十[27]。它是1992年后英国创立的新大学中排名最高的学校之一[28][29]。
文化
2000年8月，电影《拥抱》在该大学当时的学习资源中心（Learning Resources Centre，现由媒体、人文和技术学部使用）取景。[30]
