水生栖热菌（学名：Thermus aquaticus）又称水生嗜热菌，是一种好氧性嗜热细菌，最佳生长温度在70~72℃，最早是在美国黄石国家公园的pH中性偏碱温泉中被分离出来，后来也在热污染的自来水中发现；其DNA聚合酶——Taq 酶被全世界的分子生物学实验室广泛应用于聚合酶链式反应(PCR)。
