生平

1959年，克耐普出生在美国俄亥俄州桑达斯基县，早年，他就和母亲一起参加戏剧演出。

克耐普在俄亥俄州托莱多长大，他的父母都是兽医，儿时，他经常在小区和高中校园表演戏剧。

1977年，克耐普高中毕业，他考入西北大学，学习戏剧，同时他在芝加哥出演电影和电视剧。

当克耐普马上就要完成西北大学的学业时，他却退学了，他去了纽约市出演电影和电视剧。^[1]
