天文物理期刊（The Astrophysical Journal）是在天文学及天体物理学领域重要的研究期刊，于1895年创刊，至2008年底都由美国芝加哥大学出版社发行；2009年1月起改由英国物理学会出版社发行[1][2]。编辑部附属美国天文学会之下，每月出版三册，刊载的内容主要为最新的天文物理发展、发现、及学说。
历史与内容沿革
许多20世纪著名的天文学上的发现首先都是登载在本期刊上，也发表著一些近年来的重要研究报告如：类星体、脉冲星、中子星、黑洞、太阳及星际磁场、X射线、与星际物质。本期刊由乔治·海尔与詹姆士·爱德华·凯勒（James Edward Keeler）二位人士创办于1895年。
自1953年开始《天文物理期刊增刊系列》双月刊与《天文物理期刊》于1953年起同时发行[3]，增刊的发行主要是对于《天文物理期刊》上的文章能有所实质上的、及扩充性的支援，且《天文物理期刊增刊系列》内容含有非常多在天文学文献之中经常被引用的文章。
《天文物理期刊》内另附属《天文物理期刊通讯》（The Astrophysical Journal Letters）是做为即时性事件发表用[4]。
