M58

M58（也称为NGC 4579）是一个位于室女座的棒旋星系，距离地球大约有6800万光年远，由查尔斯·梅西耶于1779年所发现。M58是室女座星系团中最明亮的星系之一，在M58已经发现有两颗超新星存在（SN 1988A与SN 1989M）。
