南青冈科

南青冈科也叫南山毛榉科，只有一属—南青冈属，包括约35种，都是生长在南半球的乔木，分布在智利、阿根廷、澳大利亚、新西兰、新几内亚和新喀里多尼亚等地。亦曾分布于南极洲。

本科植物的叶有齿或全缘，常绿或落叶；果实为坚果，形态类似壳斗科植物。1981年的克朗奎斯特分类法将其列入山毛榉科，但1998年根据基因亲缘关系分类的APG 分类法认为其基因不同，可以单独分出一个科。
