普里特·巴塔

普里特·巴塔（英语：Prit Buttar）是一位英国的全科医生和历史学家，撰写了12本关于第一次和第二次世界大战东线战场的历史著作，还撰写了两本小说^[1][2]。

职业生涯

巴塔于牛津大学和伦敦大学学习医学^[3][4]，并曾于英国陆军担任外科医生^[4]和医务官五年，在布里斯托尔担任全科医生。巴塔自2000年到2017年在泰晤士河畔阿宾顿担任全科医生，并在英国医学协会的全科医生委员会工作，他也是牛津郡地方医疗委员会的主席^[3][5]。

巴塔的第一本书《普鲁士之战》受他的其中一位病人启发。这位83岁的病人回忆了她在东普鲁士作为护士的经历，以及在第二次世界大战结束时从苏联红军手中逃脱的经历^[5]，巴塔花了8年时间撰写这本书^[6]。巴塔的第二部著作——《巨人之间》则是对二战期间苏联与德国占领波罗的海国家的研究，探讨世界大战期间立陶宛、拉脱维亚和爱沙尼亚的经历^[5]。

巴塔的第三部著作——《帝国的碰撞》是对第一次世界大战东线战场的研究，全系列共出了四卷^[7]。在撰写这本书之前，巴塔花了一年时间研究柏林、维也纳和弗赖贝格的档案。在另一位历史学家的帮助下，通晓多种语言的巴塔能够翻译德国档案^[8]，该系列的第二本书《德国崛起：1915年的东线》于2015年出版^[9]。

巴塔曾于2023年在以历史为主题的播客“Out of the Box with Jonathan Russo”中客串^[10]。

个人生活

巴塔是印度裔英国人后裔^[11]，与一名军队护士黛比（Debbie）结婚，两人育有两子，其中女儿在剑桥大学学习历史^[5][8]。
