潘毅（？—），女，嶺南大學文化研究系講座教授及香港大學社會學系名譽教授，主要研究領域為中國勞工問題。2005年憑著作《中國製造：全球化工廠下的女工》，獲賴特·米爾斯獎^[1]，為首位獲此獎的亞洲學者^[2]。

生平

潘於1979年由汕頭移居香港，其弟弟為資深大律師潘熙。潘在1992年於香港中文大學歷史系取得學士學位，又在1994年於香港大學社會科學學院取得哲學碩士畢業。其後，1998年於倫敦大學亞非學院完成人類學哲學博士學位。

1993年11月19日，深圳致麗工廠大火令潘把研究重點放在中國勞工問題上。1995年，潘毅以工人的身份到深圳一家工廠打工，一年多時間與女工同吃同住。之後二十多年來，她的研究持續關注女工、建築工人、塵肺病、富士康及煤礦工人等議題。^[3] 除了勞工問題，潘毅的研究亦涉及性別及文化政治、全球化及跨境研究。

1996年，潘毅成立「女工關懷」並擔任主席。^[4][5]

2005年憑著作《中國製造：全球化工廠下的女工》，獲賴特·米爾斯獎^[1]，為首位獲此獎的亞洲學者^[2]。

2010年，深圳富士康員工連環自殺跳樓事件發生後，潘毅等九名學者聯名發表公開信，呼籲各界關注以富士康連環跳事件為代表的新生代農民工問題。隨後她與內地、台灣學者聯合，成立「兩岸三地」學者調研團隊。^[6] 整個調研耗時將近兩年，參與的人數接近百人，其中約有20人深入廠區，涵蓋了富士康在中國大陸的19個工廠。此次研究共收集了2409份有效問卷，訪談了超過500名工人，整理了超過十萬字的第一手資料。^[7] 隨後發布了多份報告，分別是2010年10月的《兩岸三地高校富士康調研總報告》、2011年5月的《西進 ─ 富士康遷調研報告》、2012年4月的《富士康，你改過自新了嗎？》和2013年5月的《富士康工會調研報告》。^[8] 這些報告指責蘋果及其代工廠富士康為血汗工廠，廣泛引起了國際社會的關注。^[9]

在2018年佳士事件中，佳士工人抗議工廠不合法、不合理的管理手段時，被廠方及警方暴力對待。其後，部分抗議者更被拘捕。7月29日，中國人民大學、北京大學、南京大學等多校學生發起了聯署聲援書，並呼籲更多人加入支持。30日，香港民間團體「大學師生監察無良企業行動」發布了公開信聲援佳士工人，聯署名單中包括了潘毅、香港中文大學教授邱林川等一百多名中外學者。^[10]
