羅伯特·洛克哈特·霍布森

羅伯特·洛克哈特·霍布森 CB（英語：Robert Lockhart Hobson，1892年7月26日^[1][2]—1941年6月5日），又譯作霍蒲孫、霍布遜等，英國文物專家。他是西方中國陶瓷研究的權威學者，曾任大英博物館陶瓷與民族志部主管、東方陶瓷學會（英語：Oriental Ceramic Society）會長。

生平

霍布森1872年出生於愛爾蘭安特里姆郡蘭貝格（英語：Lambeg, County Antrim）。^[1]1893年畢業於劍橋大學耶穌學院，獲古典學學位。^[3]

他於1897年起長期任職於大英博物館，直至1938年退休。1921年大英博物館陶瓷與民族志部創立後，他出任部門主管。^[4][5]1934年起任東方古物與民族志部主管。他早年主要研究英國陶瓷，後來興趣逐漸轉向遠東陶瓷。他推動了20世紀上半葉西方對於中國陶瓷研究與收藏的熱潮。^[6][7][8]

霍布森還是英國東方陶瓷學會（英語：Oriental Ceramic Society）的創始會員之一。從大英博物館退休後，他於1939年接替喬治·尤摩弗帕勒斯（英語：George Eumorfopoulos）出任東方陶瓷學會第二任會長。^[9][8]
