袁新意

袁新意 （1981年—）^[1]，祖籍湖北麻城，是一位華人數學家，幾何學家和數論學家，目前擔任加州大學伯克利分校數學教授。目前他的研究包括阿拉克洛夫理論（英語：Arakelov theory）、丟番圖方程、志村簇和自守形式，尤其是算術交叉理論、代數動力學、丟番圖方程和L函數的特殊值。

生平

1997年畢業於麻城市宋埠鎮中學，2000年畢業於黃岡中學，同年參加第41屆國際數學奧林匹克競賽獲得金牌。^[2]2003年畢業於北京大學數學系，北大同班同學還有張偉、惲之瑋和朱歆文等。2008年在華人數學家張壽武指導下拿到哥倫比亞大學博士學位。^[3]

他在普林斯頓高等研究院和哈佛大學做過研究，2012年加入加州大學伯克利分校。^[4]2008年至2013年擔任克雷數學研究所研究員，^[5]還和其他同事一起，被《量子雜誌》和《商業內幕》報道過。^[6][7]
