阿瑟·庫斯勒，CBE（匈牙利語：Arthur Koestler，1905年9月5日—1983年3月3日），匈牙利猶太裔英國作家、記者和批評家。庫斯勒是前共產黨員，出於對蘇聯大清洗的反思，他的思想逐漸趨向自由主義，並最終寫出指斥大清洗、控訴斯大林主義的西方文學史上著名的政治小說《中午的黑暗》。

生平
阿瑟·庫斯勒生於布達佩斯，初名Kösztler Artúr。其父亨瑞克(Henrik)是一富足的企業家和發明家，他發明的健康肥皂遠近聞名。庫斯勒14歲時移居維也納，後在維也納大學學習工程學和心理學。大學畢業前一月，他燒了大學入學許可書，並放棄結業考試。當時猶太人正大批向英國託管下的巴勒斯坦移居，庫斯勒也加入了這一行列，1926年至1929年，他先後居住在Heftzibah、特拉維夫、耶路撒冷。離開巴勒斯坦後，他成為德國烏爾斯坦報系(Ullstein-Verlag group of German newspapers)的一名記者。
1931年庫斯勒加入德國共產黨，但1938年莫斯科之旅後退出。西班牙內戰期間，他作為倫敦《新聞紀事報》（News Chronicle）記者，在法西斯軍佔領下的馬拉加省被捕獲，判處死刑，不久又獲赦免，由此，庫斯勒寫了《與死亡對話》，反映出一個面對命運者的心態。二戰爆發後，庫斯勒從一個法國拘留營（Vernet Internment Camp）逃出，一番曲折後抵達英國，不期再度入獄。他後來說：「（英國）本頓維爾監獄是我的最愛。」
1940年創作並出版傑作《中午的黑暗》，小說通過主人公魯巴肖夫與提審員的三次論辯和緊張思考，集中探討了政治革命的崇高「目的」與所採取的「手段」之間的矛盾，寫出了一場偉大政治革命的複雜歷程。這部小說在蘭登書屋「現代文庫」評選的「20世紀100部最佳英文小說」中，名列第8位。英譯本於1941年初版。中國大陸譯本有：《中午的黑暗》（作家出版社，董樂山，1988年；譯林出版社，1999年）；台灣譯本有《獄中記》（自由中國社，李誥，1950年）。
1941年2月，庫斯勒在弗雷德里克·沃伯格的安排下，和喬治·歐威爾結識。奧威爾對《中午的黑暗》的評價：「其最具價值之處，很可能在於它是一份莫斯科『招供』的解釋，由一個從內部了解極權主義手段的人所寫。」
1983年，不堪多年帕金森綜合症和白血病的折磨，庫斯勒和妻子辛西婭（Cynthia）選擇服藥自盡。庫斯勒的遺囑包含了希望能以他遺產在英國設立一個超心理學教席，以促進該領域的研究。最後他委託的基金會與愛丁堡大學達成協議。
著作
1941年，出版其第一本英文著作《渣滓》（Scum of the Earth）。另有代表作《隱性寫作》、《來來往往》、《中的三矢》、《渴望的年代》等。
