萊索托王國為單一制國家，全國劃為10個行政區，其中九個區都以其首府名稱命名（除了伯里亞區）。而10個行政區又再進一步劃分為80個選區，再細分為129個社區[1][2]。目前地方政府機構尚未完全建立，因此主要由部落酋長管理地方行政事務，現全國共有1084名酋長[3]。
