醫學術語

醫學術語（英語：medical terminology）是用於描述人體生物（英語：Biological organisation）組成部分、過程、狀況、醫療程序和治療的語言。

在英語中，醫學術語通常具有規則的語言形態學；相同的前綴和後綴用於為不同的詞根添加含義。術語的詞根通常指的是器官、組織或病症，並且醫學詞根和詞綴（英語：List of medical roots and affixes）通常源自古希臘語或拉丁語（尤其是新拉丁語）。許多醫學術語都是新古典主義複合詞（英語：Neoclassical compound）的例子。 從歷史上看，所有歐洲大學都使用拉丁語作為教學和研究的主要語言，因為新拉丁語是近代早期歐洲科學、醫學和教育的通用語。

醫學術語涵蓋了很大一部分解剖學術語（英語：anatomical terminology），其中包括解剖學方位（位置）術語、運動（英語：Anatomical terms of motion）、肌肉（英語：Anatomical terms of muscle）、骨骼（英語：Anatomical terms of bone）和組織學。它還涵蓋了生物學、化學、物理學和生理學的語言，以及醫學領域獨有的詞彙，例如醫學縮寫。 每個醫學分支都有自己的臨床和科學術語。醫學詞典是專門的醫學術語詞典，可以按字母順序排列，也可以按照醫學分類（英語：Medical classification）系統（例如醫學系統命名法（英語：Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine）、國際疾病分類或統一醫學語言系統）排列。
