建初（489年—496年）是高昌国王张孟明的年号，共计8年。新疆出土文物有“建初二年岁在庚午（490年）“建初七年十二月十二日太岁〔乙〕亥（495年）”字样可证。[1]一说是阚首归的年号，共计3年。该年号被认为是阚氏的最后年号，[2]
