扇形模式(英语:sector model),也称为霍伊特模式Hoyt model),是土地经济学家霍默·霍伊特英语Homer Hoyt于1939年提出的城市土地利用模型。[1]它是同心圆模式的修改。应用此模型的好处包括它允许向外发展。与所有将复杂现象的简单化的模型一样,其准确性也是有限的。[2]

应用

这种模式适用于许多英国城市。此外,如果它逆时针旋转90度,它可以相当准确地匹配门兴格拉德巴赫市。这可能是因为在城市当时的年代,交通十分关键,一般来说,旧城市遵循霍伊特模式,较新的城市遵循伯吉斯(同心圆)模式。

局限

该理论基于二十世纪早期的铁路运输,并未考虑允许人们住在城市以外的廉价土地而往返市区上下班的私家车。[3]这发生在20世纪30年代的卡尔加里 ,当时城外靠近有轨电车终点站的地方建了许多准贫民窟。这些现已纳入城市边界,但是是中成本区域的低成本住房的洼地。[2]该理论也没有考虑边缘城市和boomburb(新兴郊区)的新概念,该模型创建之后,这些概念于20世纪80年代开始出现。自这些新概念创建以来,传统的中央商业区的重要性已经下降,因为许多零售和办公楼已搬入郊区
