沿革
民国三年（1914年）5月23日以清代苏州、常州二府及通州直隶州辖境置。道尹为繁要缺，一等。驻吴县（今江苏省苏州市）。辖吴县、常熟、昆山、吴江、武进、无锡、宜兴、江阴、靖江、南通、如皋、泰兴12县。民国十六年（1927年）废。
