开罗－达喀尔高速公路是联合国非洲经济委员会（UNECA）、非洲开发银行（ADB）以及非洲联盟（AU）所推行之“非洲横贯公路计划”中的1号路线。其中的黎波里和努瓦克肖特的路段是在阿拉伯马格里布联盟监督下完成。
本公路全长约8,636千米（5,366英里），从开罗出发，经过北部非洲的地中海沿岸和西北非洲的大西洋沿岸，直至达喀尔结束。大致上已经通车，除了毛里塔尼亚到摩洛哥之间的边境路段尚未施工，以及从1994年开始，摩洛哥和阿尔及利亚因为接壤彼此的国界关闭而无法贯通。
