歐勒·雷時常拍攝中低成本的B級電影和剝削電影，其電影時常含有動作、冒險、恐怖、驚悚、暴力、怪物、色情或家庭[1]，與導演吉姆·懷諾斯基相似。他的作品多是以電視電影或錄影帶首映的方式發行。其妻子Kimberly A. Ray常與他的電影中擔任監製。除了電影業，歐勒·雷也是職業摔跤手。
