班傑明·盧因

班傑明·盧因（英語：Benjamin Lewin，1950年—）是《細胞》期刊的創辦者^[1]，以及分子生物學教材《基因》的作者^[2]。他以在短時間內將《細胞》打造成為與《科學》及《自然》齊名的重要期刊而聞名於世。^[3][4]

個人經歷

盧因在劍橋大學獲得了文科碩士(MA)和博士(PhD)學位，又在倫敦大學獲得了理學碩士(MSc)學位。在薩塞克斯大學擔任了一段時間講師後，他成為了《自然》雜誌的編輯。他隨後又到美國國立衛生研究院工作。在那裡工作的同時，他開始萌生創立一個綜合性的細胞生物學期刊的想法。^[5]他於1974年創立《細胞》雜誌，並由麻省理工學院出版社出版發行。1986年，他完全照搬雜誌的標題(bought the title outright)，建立了自己的出版公司，起名為「細胞出版社」。盧因也是廣為暢銷的分子生物學系列教材《基因》的作者，這本書由Jones & Bartlett Learning公司出版發行，已出版到第12版(2017)。在1999年的時候，他把細胞出版社轉手賣給了愛思唯爾出版公司。

盧因也是一名葡萄酒大師，並發表了大量的相關主題文章或讀物。他定期給《The World of Fine Wine》和《醇鑒》雜誌投稿，同時寫了不少相關主題書籍。
