約翰·彼得·阿爾特吉爾德

約翰·彼得·阿爾特吉爾德（英語：John Peter Altgeld，1847年12月30日—1902年3月12日），美國政治家，美國民主黨成員，屬民主改革派，曾任伊利諾州州長（英語：Governor of Illinois）（1893年-1897年）。主要以赦免（1893年6月26日）秣市騷亂（1886年5月4日）中的幾名德裔無政府主義分子聞名，在該次騷亂中有7名芝加哥警察被殺。阿爾特吉爾德的父母為德國移民。它在俄亥俄長大，19世紀70年代移居芝加哥。早年寫文章對窮人表示同情。後參加民主黨，在庫克縣高級法院任職（1886—1891）。1893年，它認為對參加秣市騷亂的一些人審判不公。這得到勞工首領的贊同，也引起保守派報紙的抗議。一年後，他反對在普爾曼罷工事件中使用聯邦軍隊，向格羅弗·克利夫蘭總統提出抗議。1896年競選連任失敗，重操律師業。
