彼得、保羅和瑪麗

彼得、保羅和瑪麗（英語：Peter, Paul and Mary，PPM）是1960年代活躍在美國樂壇上的一支三重唱組合。該組合由彼得·亚罗（英语：Peter Yarrow）、保罗·斯图基（英语：Paul Stookey）和玛丽·特拉弗斯（英语：Mary Travers）组成。

歷史

早期（1961年-1969年）

1963年三人在向华盛顿进军集会上演出

彼得、保羅和瑪麗結成於1961年。在邁阿密訓練後，他們在紐約格林威治村的一家咖啡館演出。次年發行第一張組合同名唱片《彼得、保罗和玛丽（英语：Peter, Paul and Mary (album)）》。該唱片在《告示牌》雜誌排行榜前十位上停留了十個月，有七周排名第一。銷量達到二百萬張，獲美國唱片業協會金唱片認證。至1963年，該樂團共發行三張唱片。同年他們發表了《Puff, the Magic Dragon》，由彼得作曲，歌詞來自一名康奈爾大學的學生作者。有都市傳說指歌曲中有毒品影響，彼得則表示歌曲表達的是對失去的純真童年的懷念。^[1] 該年樂隊還在馬丁·路德·金組織的向华盛顿进军遊行上演唱了《If I Had a Hammer（英语：If I Had a Hammer）》。

彼得、保羅和瑪麗多有翻唱鮑勃·迪倫的歌曲，如《Blowin' in the Wind》。他們的經紀人阿爾伯特·格羅斯曼（英语：Albert Grossman）也是鮑勃·迪倫的經紀人。他們翻唱的《Don't Think Twice, It's All Right（英语：Don't Think Twice, It's All Right）》還幫助迪倫四個月前的唱片《The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan》重回排行榜前30名。 ^[2]1969年12月，友人約翰·丹佛為三人寫的《Leaving On A Jet Plane（英语：Leaving On A Jet Plane）》成為組合唯一的榜首歌曲，也是組合唯一的銷量過百萬單曲。收錄該單曲的專輯是《Album 1700（英语：Album 1700）》（1967年發行）。組合最後一隻前一百名單曲是同年6月的《Day Is Done（英语：Day Is Done (song)）》，排行第21位。

解散與重組

2006年三人在纽约演出

1970年組合解散，三人各自發展，但各自收穫不大。1978年三人在一場反核的音樂會上重聚演出，從此組合復合，繼續創作和發行唱片。

2004年瑪麗診斷患上白血病。之後組合因她的康復治療而時有取消和推遲演出。隨著她病重，保羅和彼得已開始以二重唱（英语：Duet）組合出場演出。2009年9月16日瑪麗病逝。保羅和彼得仍活躍在演出舞臺上。2010年保羅和彼得敦促反對同性戀的美國全国婚姻组织（英语：National Organization for Marriage）停止在集會中使用他們的《This Land Is Your Land》，因為該組織和彼得、保羅和瑪麗「主張直接對立」。^[3]

2025年1月7日，彼得因膀胱癌病逝，享年86歲。^[4]

榮譽

• 1990年9月1日因積極參與和平活動，獲頒和平修道院良知勇氣獎。^[5]
• 1999年組合進入演唱組名人堂。
• 2006年獲音乐创作人名人堂頒發的薩米·卡恩終身成就獎。
