赫利俄斯

赫利俄斯（希腊语：Ήλιος，英文：Helios）是古希腊神话中的太阳神，相对应于古羅馬神話中的索尔（拉丁语：Sol）。他是提坦神许珀里翁與忒亞之子，黎明女神厄俄斯和月亮女神塞勒涅的兄弟。他是驾驶日车的车手。

赫利俄斯每日都會乘四马金车在天空中奔驰，从东到西，晨出晚没，用光明普照世界。在许多神话中，他同阿波罗混为一体。傳說夏日的日照時間長即因為赫利俄斯在天空看著寧芙們跳舞，冬日時長較短因為赫利俄斯縈繞於妻子身邊而耽誤行程。有關赫利俄斯最著名的故事是關於他的兒子法厄同，要求父親讓他駕駛日車一天。沒有經驗的法厄同一下駕駛過低使大地灼燒，一下駕駛過高使萬物凍結。最終，法厄同被宙斯以閃電擊斃，結束這場災難。

氦元素的發現者約瑟夫·諾曼·洛克耶，基於氦呈現出如太陽色球一般的光譜，以赫利俄斯（helios）為其命名。
