Zastron is 'n dorp in die Vrystaat en geleë langs Aasvoëlberg tussen die Caledon- en die Oranjerivier.

Die gebied is oorspronklik bewoon deur nomadiese San en is later deur die Basoetostam en Voortrekkers verower. Oorspronklik was dit deel van Basoetoland, maar is omstreeks 1886 deur die Vrystaat verower.
Die dorp met sy pragtige natuurskoon is op 'n gedeelte van die plaas Verliesfontein, distrik Rouxville, in die verowerde grondgebied, uitgelê. In 1876 is die gedeelte waar die dorp nou staan, in erwe afgemeet. Die eggenote van president Brand, Johanna Sibella Brand (gebore Zastron), is genader met die versoek om haar toestemming dat die dorp haar nooiensvan Zastron as naam sal dra, waartoe sy ingewillig het. Op 2 Oktober 1890 is 'n kerk voltooi en die gemeente is eers uiteindelik op 29 November 1893 gestig. Die plaaslike Gereformeerde kerk het op 16 April 1916 aan die beurt gekom, maar moes in 2004 ontbind nadat die gemeente te klein geword het om selfstandig voort te bestaan.
