Talmensky District

Talmensky District (Russian: Тальме́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the north of the krai. The area of the district is 3,914 square kilometers (1,511 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Talmenka.[1] Population: 46,770 (2010 Russian census);[3] 48,287 (2002 Census);[7] 48,569 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Talmenka accounts for 40.2% of the district's total population.[3]
